Delineate Community Grant Awards Recap – Autumn 2025

What is Delineate’s Community Commitment?
Our Community Commitment mission is to direct support towards initiatives that improve people’s wellbeing, foster inclusion, and empower individuals across the communities where we live and work.
Our focus on Health and Wellbeing shapes the decision we make. Whether helping people reconnect with nature, encouraging physical activity, reducing social isolation, or supporting environmental care, the initiatives bring clear benefits to mental, emotional, and community wellbeing.

Celebrating Our Autumn 2025 Grant Recipients
This second round of awards supported a diverse group of individuals and organisations whose work strengthens their communities in unique and impactful ways. Together, they demonstrate how community-led initiatives can create meaningful change both locally and beyond.

Dafydd’s Wood – Nurturing Wellbeing Through Nature
Dafydd’s Wood is a four-acre woodland purchased in 2017 with the vision of creating a space dedicated to improving mental wellbeing through reconnection with nature. Since then, the woodland has been carefully developed and opened to the local community, working in collaboration with Coed Lleol Small Woods.
Work is ongoing to ensure the woodland becomes fully accessible, including the addition of a compost toilet, improved road access, and a roundhouse that provides shelter during wet weather. Through funding from Delineate, Dafydd’s Wood was able to:
- Connect the woodland paths to create a loop across the top of the woodland
- Improve and enhancing the children’s play area
- Install additional bird boxes and introducing bat boxes
- Create a Mud Kitchen for toddlers, resulting in a weekly Parent & Toddler group.

Dion Regan – Building Skills and Expanding Opportunity Through Golf
Dion Regan is an u19s golf enthusiast from Llanwnnen, West Wales, who took up the sport at fourteen months old! Now, having competed for both Wales and GB at various junior levels, Dion is striving to become a professional golfer while remaining deeply committed to supporting his local club and community in West Wales.
Beyond competition, Dion recognises golf as a sport that builds resilience, concentration, independence, and social connection. His goal is not only personal success, but to gain formal coaching qualifications to mentor and develop golfers of all ages, and to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the junior programme across West Wales.
The funding Dion received from Delineate, has supported Dion to:
- Achieve Level 1 and Level 2 Golf Coaching certifications
- Purchase training aids and golf equipment to enhance junior sessions
- Run a junior training programme at his local golf club attended by tens of children and young people

Llandysul Craft & Wellbeing Group – Creativity, Inclusion and Connection
Llandysul Craft & Wellbeing Group began as a project delivered by Arts4Wellbeing, giving people the opportunity to take part in creative activities within a safe and nurturing environment. The group fosters not only creativity but also empathy, resilience, and genuine social connection. It is a powerful example of how community led initiatives can improve wellbeing in simple yet transformative ways.
The grant funding from Delineate supports the group with its core expenses, and continue to support its members by:
- Reducing rural isolation and creating meaningful friendships
- Providing a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages and backgrounds
- Supporting carers, home schooling families, and those experiencing disability or mental ill health
- Encouraging them to build confidence by volunteering and leading sessions

Sadie Sterry – Elite Sport and Mental Resilience
Eighteen-year-old Sadie Sterry competes in UK Canoe Slalom at the highest domestic level. She is currently the highest ranked female Welsh paddler in both disciplines and has qualified for the GB Under 23 team, representing Great Britain at the World and European Championships.
Competing across three disciplines requires significant investment in boats, paddles, helmets, specialist equipment, race entry fees, and travel costs. Our grant contributes towards these expenses, supporting Sadie’s continued development as an elite athlete.
Importantly, Sadie gives back by coaching and mentoring younger paddlers at her club. She has completed her core coaching qualification and continues to expand her skills, helping inspire the next generation of athletes.
Sadie’s journey highlights how sport can strengthen both physical and mental wellbeing while creating positive role models within the community.

Keep Wales Tidy – Empowering Communities Through Environmental Action
Keep Wales Tidy is an environmental charity working across Wales to protect and improve local environments for current and future generations. Their vision is a beautiful Wales cared for and enjoyed by everyone. By supporting environmental stewardship, this initiative enhances civic pride, social cohesion, and overall community wellbeing.
In Llandysul, the charity supports a Litter Picking Hub that provides equipment, insurance, and guidance to volunteers. Individuals and groups can borrow equipment for one-off or regular activities, empowering residents to take action in their own communities.
Our grant funding allowed the hub to purchase additional equipment, leading to:
- Increased volunteering opportunities
- Improved local environmental quality
- Greater volunteer participation

Looking Ahead
The Autumn 2025 round of Delineate’s Community Commitment grants once again demonstrates the breadth of initiatives that contribute to health and wellbeing. From woodland therapy spaces and youth sport to creative community hubs and environmental volunteering, each recipient shows how grassroots passion can deliver lasting impact.
We are incredibly proud to support these individuals and organisations and look forward to continuing our quarterly funding rounds throughout 2026.
