Climbing for a Cause: Delineate’s Welsh Three Peaks Challenge Raises Thousands for Health & Wellbeing Charities

At Delineate, our Community Commitment is more than an initiative—it is an intrinsic part of who we are and how we operate. We believe that businesses can and should play an active role in improving the world around them, and that belief has shaped the way we support communities across the globe. Our 2025 charitable theme, Health and Wellbeing, sits at the heart of everything we fund and everything we do.

From grant awards and volunteering programmes to matched fundraising efforts that amplify our collective impact, Delineate’s approach is both strategic and deeply personal. This ethos was celebrated at our official Community Commitment launch on 12 June 2025, where Rebecca Evans, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning, commended our mission to pair high-quality job creation with meaningful, long-term community engagement. At this event, we proudly introduced our three charity partners for 2025—each chosen for their aligned focus on wellbeing, resilience, and human connection: the DPJ FoundationDandelion Time, and Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena.

This September, we put that commitment into action in a particularly bold way: by taking on one of the UK’s most iconic endurance challenges and pushing ourselves—literally—to new heights.

Taking on the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge

On 12–13 September, a team of 21 colleagues from across our global offices—representing the UK, Mexico, and the United States—came together to face the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge. Within just 24 hours, the team set out to climb the three most famous mountains in Wales: Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)Cadair Idris, and Pen y Fan. Each summit is stunning, demanding, and unique; together, they form a challenge that requires determination, resilience, teamwork, and no small amount of grit.

The numbers alone tell a powerful story:

  • Three Peaks in one day
  • 28 km distance
  • 2,300 m of total ascent
  • 13 hours of hiking
  • 21 colleagues, all completing the challenge
  • Zero injuries or incidents
  • One shared goal: to raise £10,000 for charity

Clocking climb times of 6 hours for Yr Wyddfa5 hours for Cadair Idris, and 2 hours for Pen y Fan, the team progressed in order from highest to lowest peaks. Battling changing Welsh weather—rain, hail, cloud cover, and even bursts of sunshine—the group pushed through tough conditions with energy and enthusiasm. In hindsight, our timing could not have been better; storms swept across Wales the following day, proving that even the skies were on our side for this special effort.

Why We Climbed: Supporting Health & Wellbeing Across the World

The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge was not just a physical feat—it was a mission. Every step taken was to support three extraordinary organisations that work every day to improve health and wellbeing within the communities they serve.

The DPJ Foundation (Wales)

Supporting mental health in rural communities across Wales, the DPJ Foundation ensures that farmers, agricultural workers, and their families have access to compassionate, confidential advice and therapy. Mental wellbeing in rural areas is often overlooked; the foundation gives people a lifeline when they need it most.

Dandelion Time (UK)

Dandelion Time works with children and families who have experienced trauma, offering therapeutic support through nature, creativity, and connection. Their restorative programs help young people rebuild resilience, confidence, and trust—changing futures in the most meaningful way.

Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena (Mexico)

Granito de Arena empowers vulnerable communities in Mexico by providing education, social support, and development opportunities for children and young people. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to create brighter futures, one grain of sand at a time.

Our fundraising target of £10,000, split equally between these charities, will help each organisation continue delivering vital practical and emotional support where it matters most. Their work reflects the diverse global footprint of Delineate—with impact stretching from rural Wales to communities across the UK and neighbourhoods in Mexico City.

A Huge Thank You: Your Support Made This Possible

To everyone who sponsored our team: thank you. Whether you donated, shared our campaign, encouraged participants, or followed our progress online, your support made a real difference. Fundraising is not simply about reaching a target; it is about joining together to back organisations doing life-changing work.

Thanks to your generosity, we are now more than three-quarters of the way toward our £10,000 goal, having already raised over £7,500. Every contribution—large or small—has helped us move closer to unlocking the full matched funding commitment that Delineate has pledged for 2025.

Behind the Scenes: Stories from the Peaks

Although the statistics give structure to the story, the real heart of this challenge lies with the colleagues who tackled it together. What stands out most is not only the physical stamina of the group, but their enthusiasm, camaraderie, and shared purpose.

Some participants were experienced hikers; others had never climbed a mountain. Several colleagues had travelled across the world to join the challenge, turning it into a truly international team effort. Throughout the journey—from the first steps up Yr Wyddfa in the early hours to the final push up Pen y Fan—every member supported one another. Laughter, encouragement, shared snacks, and moments of quiet reflection were all part of the experience.

The weather added an extra challenge. Hail on Yr Wyddfa made the ridges slippery. Clouds on Cadair Idris obscured views (but not determination). Pen y Fan surprised the team with brief pockets of sunshine, a final reward before the descent. Yet despite the unpredictable conditions, morale stayed high, and spirits stayed strong.

The result was more than a completed challenge—it was a memorable team achievement that brought our international colleagues closer together.

What’s Next: Keep Climbing With Us

The Welsh Three Peaks may be behind us, but our drive to support health and wellbeing continues. As we push toward our £10,000 fundraising target, our team is already preparing a second event to keep raising money for our charity partners.

More details will follow soon—but one thing is certain: the momentum is strong, and the mission is far from over.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to get involved, it’s not too late.
