Delineate Community Grant Awards Recap – Summer 2025

Why Community Commitment Matters to Delineate
At Delineate, our Community Commitment is not just a box to tick; it’s a genuine, long-term part of who we are.
Our 2025 charitable theme is Health and Wellbeing, and that guides everything we fund. Through grant funding, volunteering, and matched fundraising, we aim to channel resources into projects that make real, lasting differences. The importance of this commitment was underlined in our official launch event on June 12, 2025, when Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning, Rebecca Evans, praised Delineate’s vision of combining quality job creation with deep community engagement. During the launch, we also announced our charity partners for 2025, three organizations aligned with health and wellbeing: the Welsh mental health charity DPJ Foundation, the nature-based charity Dandelion Time, and the youth organization Granito de Arena Intl. Foundation in Mexico City. We have committed not only to grant-making but to match funding fundraising efforts to help support these charities.
Our first major fundraising event was held in September, where our colleagues from Mexico and London joined our team in Wales to take on the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, climbing three mountains at a distance of 28km and elevation of 2,300m all in 24 hours, raising over £7,500!

Celebrating Our Summer 2025 Grant Winners
The recipients of our Summer 2025 Community Grants are a powerful illustration of what our Community Commitment is all about. From young athletes to long-established community groups, their projects all align with health and wellbeing and reflect the strength and diversity of grassroots initiatives across our region.

Gwion Williams – Championing the Next Generation of Welsh Kayakers
One of our standout grant recipients was Gwion Williams, an exceptional young athlete from Llandysul. Gwion made waves internationally when he won silver in the Men’s Kayak Cross Junior Final at the European Championships in Solkan, Slovenia.
His grant was used to purchase vital kayaking equipment, giving him what he needed to compete at the highest level and continue his development toward future goals, including a potential Olympic journey. What truly impressed us, however, wasn’t just his performance, but his character: Gwion began paddling at age eight with Llandysul Paddlers, and over time, he’s not only represented Wales and Great Britain but has also mentored younger paddlers in his local community.
Now based in London for university, Gwion continues to train hard while inspiring others. His ambition, perseverance, and willingness to give back encapsulate the very spirit of Delineate’s Community Grant program.

Ceredigion Sports Council – Celebrating 25 Years of Sporting Achievement
We were equally proud to support the Ceredigion Sports Council, which has played a central role in local sport for 25 years. In partnership with the local authority, they organize the Ceredigion Sports Awards, an annual event that celebrates athletic excellence and volunteering.
Our grant directly supported the “Talented Junior” category, recognizing young athletes who have achieved international honors as a way to encourage continued development through financial support. The awards ceremony, held in July in Aberaeron, was attended by Steff Evans and Simon Davies from Delineate, underlining our personal engagement and belief in the event’s importance.
By contributing to this celebration, Delineate is reinforcing how sport strengthens community, promotes wellbeing, and fosters pride in local talent.

Borth Rowing Club – Strengthening Community Through Tradition
Another inspiring grantee was Borth Rowing Club, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025. The club operates two Celtic longboats and offers rowing as a means for physical activity, social inclusion, and mental wellness across generations.
Their grant application focused on maintaining the club’s safety and functionality, specifically replacing vital boat parts such as backstays, stretchers, and foot strap kits. This maintenance ensures members of all ages can continue to row safely and that the club remains a hub for community connection.
Delineate was particularly moved by how the club brings people together, offering traditional sport in a way that supports health, fitness, and community cohesion.

Padlo Pawb – Empowering Young People on the River Teifi
Perhaps one of the most socially transformative grants went to Padlo Pawb, a social enterprise that works with children and young people along the River Teifi. Their mission is to build skills, confidence, environmental awareness, and a love of nature through kayaking and canoeing, all through a bilingual Welsh context.
In rural areas, barriers such as transport, fuel cost, and equipment access often prevent young people from benefiting from outdoor sport. Padlo Pawb’s grant addressed exactly those challenges, helping more young people experience the mental and physical health benefits of paddle sport while fostering a stronger connection to nature and community.

What’s Next for Delineate’s Community Commitment
The Summer 2025 funding round was just the beginning. Our Community Commitment program is designed to continue running through 2025 and beyond, with quarterly rounds of funding available to individuals, community groups, clubs, and social enterprises. Whether it’s grassroots sport, mental health, environmental education, or other initiatives, we remain committed to supporting projects that build healthier, more connected communities.
We also plan to deepen our engagement through volunteering and joint fundraising, not just giving grants. The matched fundraising model means that when our team, clients, or partners raise funds, Delineate matches them, doubling the contribution to our chosen charities.
We are immensely proud of the first wave of grant recipients. Their passion, purpose, and community spirit truly capture what this initiative is all about. These stories aren’t just about funding; they’re about people, connection, and positive change, and they reflect why community commitment matters so deeply to Delineate.
Thank you to everyone who applied, to every community group making a difference, and to all our colleagues and partners who believe in what we are building together. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
If you are an individual, club, or social enterprise who has a health and wellbeing project that requires funding, we would welcome your application. Full details can be found at delineate.ai/community
